Biography

Stephanie Dunne gained her Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Trinity College Dublin in 2018. Her final year dissertation was a research project looking at the sedimentary provenance of Lower Carboniferous rocks in the Rathdowney Trend of the Irish Midlands through trace elemental analysis of heavy minerals (apatite and zircon).

Stephanie joined the Marine Geology research group in October 2018 under the supervision of Prof. Andy Wheeler. Her project is titled ‘Aggregate Potential of Irish South Coast Offshore Palaeovalleys (AggrePOP)’ and is a 2-year iCRAG funded Masters by research. The aim of her research is to delimit and quantify (resource location, thickness and quality) marine aggregate resources off the south coast of Ireland.
