We have had a busy week so far, with various training days taking place on our recently purchased equipment.
Frank and Christina Ratti from SARL Technicap visited us on Monday for a day of intensive training on our new sediment traps. This is the beginning of our preparation for next years research cruise, even though we are only back from off shore! Pictured below is some of our team with Frank and Christina and William. A room full of smiles, as the day was a success!
Our second visit this week was from Dr Manuel Kuhs from Particular Sciences. Manuel carried out an intensive day of training on our new Malvern Mastersizer 3000.
We recently moved the Mastersizer to our new lab space in the Environmental Research Institute, so it was great to have Manuel visit our new space!
We have already been using the Mastersizer, with fourth-year student Paul Flemming recently completing his samples, and PhD student Siobhán Burke also running her samples. Have a sneak peek at the new set up below!
The busy weeks are set to continue as our current profilers are set to be delivered next week from Nortek Instruments. This is also part of our cruise preparations for next year! Watch this space!
